Color Rendering Index- What is the Color Rendering Index ?

Color rendering index refers to the ability of the light emitted by LED disc chandelier to truly restore the color of an item. If the color rendering index of LED lamp beads is not good, the color of the illuminated object will be distorted and the visual effect will be affected.

The color rendering index of LED lamps refers to the difference between the color seen by the eyes and the real natural color (under sunlight) of an object under the illumination of LED light. The higher the color rendering of the lamp, the more realistic the color of the object.

Different professional occasions have different color rendering requirements for LED lamps. For example, clothing stores and other places require high color rendering, generally above 90; while art galleries, museums and other places require highly realistic color rendering, so the color rendering of their lamps must reach above 95.

In the office, high color rendering index can make the office environment more comfortable and natural. If you use LED disc lights with poor color rendering, employees may feel eye fatigue and discomfort, affecting work efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to choose LED disc lights with good color rendering.

office disc lights also need to consider factors such as brightness, color temperature, service life, and energy efficiency. The brightness must be sufficient to meet office needs; the color temperature must be appropriate to provide a comfortable working environment; the service life must be long to reduce maintenance costs; the energy efficiency must be high to reduce energy consumption.

Color rendering index (CRI) is also an important factor for evaluating the color rendering of LED light sources. The higher the CRI, the better the color rendering. However, it should be noted that the standard color sample used in CRI calculation is unsaturated color, which is better for measuring the color rendering of continuous and wide-band light sources; for saturated color light sources such as LED, the accuracy of color rendering evaluation will be certain error.
